Launch of the 2nd LGE of the Emirates Longines Show Jumping League

 Sharjah (October 12-13)

The Sharjah Equestrian Club will host the second competitions of the Emirates Longines Show Jumping League over the weekend, featuring riders from various clubs. The event includes 10 rounds with a total prize money of 170,000 AED.

Competitions will start on Saturday with five rounds, including an ideal time round for 4-year-old horses and novices, with jump heights ranging from 80 to 135 cm.

On Sunday, competitions will continue with an ideal time round for young horses, along with additional rounds for different levels, culminating in a round with jumps up to 140 cm. Exciting competition is expected as the new season kicks off.

The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, the first equestrian club in the UAE, was established in 1982 under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

The Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club is located on the Al Dhaid Road (Sharjah Airport Road) at Interchange 6. This comprehensive equine establishment covers an area of 2.8 km2 and is home to the one of the largest indoor riding facilities in the Middle East.

The club has been at the forefront of encouraging equine sports in the UAE. The Sharjah Racetrack, constructed to global specifications, was used to organize the first official flat race in UAE in 1983.
